Finding Community, One Workshop at a Time

Finding Community, One Workshop at a Time

There’s something truly special that happens inside the workshop space at Mulberry Market Co. Maybe it’s the scent of fresh dough, the quiet focus as someone pours melted wax into a candle mold, or the sparkle of glass catching afternoon light — but there’s a certain magic that unfolds when people come together to create.

We often hear people say they’d love to take a workshop but hesitate because they don’t have anyone to go with. And we always tell them the same thing: come anyway.

Because here, you’ll never really be alone.

Our workshops are filled with friendly faces — some coming with friends, some coming solo — but by the end of class, it’s rare to see anyone leaving without a smile or a new connection. Getting creative together is naturally bonding. There’s laughter over wobbly dough, shared excitement as colors blend perfectly in a glass design, and warm conversation as candles cool on the table.

One of our favorite moments from this season came from two women who each signed up for a class on their own. They sat next to each other, introduced themselves, and before long were chatting as if they’d known each other for years. By the end of the class, they exchanged information — new friends brought together by a shared love of making something with their hands. Now they coordinate with one another for upcoming workshops!

It’s moments like that that remind us what these workshops are really about.

Yes, you’ll learn how to shape a sourdough loaf, piece together a mosaic coaster, or pour a dough bowl candle — but you’ll also find community. You’ll share stories, ideas, and laughter. You’ll leave not just with something beautiful you made, but with a sense of belonging.

So if you’ve been thinking about joining a workshop but hesitated because you’d be coming alone — take this as your sign to go for it.

There’s always a seat waiting for you at our table, and who knows — maybe even a new friendship, too.
