Hi, I’m Hannah — the heart behind Mulberry Market Co.
Our story began in a small town in Michigan in 2016, where I first started making strawberry mulberry jam using fruit from the mulberry tree at the end of our driveway. I sold it at local farmers markets, alongside a friend’s goat milk soap — both of which became early customer favorites. What started as a simple table with a few handmade goods grew into 36 flavors of jam and a full calendar of vendor shows across lower Michigan.
As I traveled to events, I found myself inspired by the beautifully curated booths full of gifts and home décor. That inspiration sparked a new dream. When friends and family started asking to shop locally, I set up my market booth inside an old outbuilding on my parent's farm for the holidays — and to my surprise, more people came than I ever imagined. We began hosting monthly markets in that space and eventually renovated it into our first storefront, where we welcomed shoppers for the next three years.
In 2020, I met my now-husband David on a snowmobiling trip with my family. Life took a turn, and I moved across the country in 2021 to see where love would lead. For nearly two years, I flew back to Michigan five days a month to keep the shop running smoothly. I planned to close that store at the end of 2022 — but when a sale fell through, something unexpected happened: I found our new building just a week later. It felt meant to be.
We opened our current storefront in June of 2023, and it’s been such a joy to watch it grow. Today, Mulberry Market Co. has expanded to include women’s clothing and a curated children’s section called Mulberry Mini. We also now host creative workshops — something I never had space for before, and something that fills my heart every time I see our community come together around the table.
My hope is that when you walk into our shop, you feel welcomed, inspired, and at home. Thanks for being a part of our story.
With love,
Hannah
